guitarboy

now by this i mean like..is it a type of cardio? what will it improve..what is the recommended amount of time to be on one? all abit vague i know..but answers through experience as apposed to a web-site.

Answer
exercise bikes are a great low impact exercise to take the place of a cardio session. It works great for toning your legs while burning calories at the same time. The muscle that benefits most from it is your heart. Most doctors and fitness specialists recommend three 30 minute sessions of cardio a week, but find what works best for you.

What benefits do my body get from an exercise bike?

BabyDaddy-

Does it work the abs? Define the legs? Any benefits you can think of. Thanks in advance.

Answer
Exercise bikes help build lean muscle in the legs, thighs, and butt. They are also cardio so they get your heart pumping. A good thing about building lean muscle in the legs is that there are some really large muscles there and they will burn more calories.

Exercise bikes are great, but don't forget strength training for your upper body and core muscles (abs, back). You want to be healthy all around.
