If you are doing the HIIT routine then 20 minutes will work. If you are just doing regular cardio with the proper heart rate then you should do at least 30 minutes to no more than an hour.

The easiest way to lose weight is to eat less. Cut back a little each day and watch what you eat. 1-2 hours a day on the exercise bike will definitely help if you can keep it up every day. It's much easier to reduce your food intake then to work it off later.
